we took a train to Binche and it was about an hour's journey.
when the train reached the station in Binche, almost all the passengers got down from the train ahaha....everyone was going to the carnival.
and then.....i got a glimpse of what the carnival would be like.....this guy was alone walking down the street with a drummer behind him.
then we walked a lil more and reached the street where the parade was going to take place...and boy were there many ppl already there....
and then another group walked pass us....it looked like this carnival was a family/group activity of some sort...
the people in the crowd dressed up for this occation too...the kids look really cute in their suits ahahah.....there was a baby in a bear suit that was really cute but i couldnt get a photo in time :D

although it's not as elaborate....anyways after standing in the crowd for about 2 -3 hours....so tired....all this ppl here dont feel tired for some reasons.....dont they need to go to the toilet or something?
and i got my answer to that question as a breeze blew from behind.....OWWWWwwwww the STENCH!!!
see this street behind me? and there was this group marching through this backstreet.....it's a bar on both sides....AND IT"S THE PLACE WHERE EVERYBODY JUST PEEEEEEEE.....OPENLY...those ppl who step out from the bar just go there to pee against the wall....

ok so finally the carnival started...we heard the drums....so we waited....and waited.....and waited still...no sign of them and i wondered why it took them so long just to parade....coz they sounded near....and i could barely see coz they were so tall and there was so many people.
and meanwhile u see everybody putting nets down ALL their windows and doors..... like this
i thought vandalism was so bad here...ppl throwing stones or something.....and then the parade finally reached our spot.
it started with the police riding horses...
and then a group of kids in costumes marched down.....and i was thinking how disappointing....what is so fun watching a group of kids marching in their light blue pyjamas..
and the next group in green polka dots....
and then the next looked like the cast for the sound of music nuns. hehe
then from afar there was a marching band.....and it was then we saw the ppl wearing big bushy feathery onion hats.
apparently this group was doing more than marching and waving to the crowd....hehe the first sign of the ORANGE RAIN was the cheers from the crowd....and then u see ORANGES flying EVERYWHERE.

lol my friend who went with me had 1 right in her face lol....look at those speeding oranges :D
worse is when they throw it hard and it bounces off the walls of the building.....juice splattered everywhere....not to mention oranges rebounding from behind....u can never see it coming since it comes from behind lol....and from above. and then soon u see peeled oranges flying from the other side of the crowd....after eating the oranges they throw the skins back haha.
